This book is not so much about pedophiles and child abuse, it is more about how not to be a parent. This book should be title "We are the dumbest parents in the world".
Do not pay for this book- The author of this book should be locked up not stacking cash on behalf of her daughters trauma and story. The author allowed the chapters in her book to happen
I’m watching the documentary right now and am appalled! I blame the parents as much as "B" for the events that took place. If this were to happen nowadays, I believe the parents would’ve gone to prison too! At the very least, the kids would’ve been taken away. I got the feeling that they were basically pimping her out to him... If you buy this book, you’re part of the problem.
I'm sure these horrible things happened to Jan, however I do not believe the parents were naïve. I do believe this family is twisted and part of this. I cannot believe any parent even naïve would not know what was happening to their children. I watched the documentary too where the father and mother are both in a sexual relationship with this man too. If he was able to seduce the parents did they not think that he was doing this to their child too.
This book should be called given away innocence because the parents made a deal with the man who " kidnapped " their daughter instead of fighting for her abductor to be put away. Then after she was returned home the mother had an affair with him and the daughter was taken again? Even the dad was sleeping with him is crazy!! I'm glad the daughter seemed to come to her see that she was being brainwashed , no thanks to her parents. The mom should not be making money off of what her daughter went through this is sad.
What a weird and strange story. I believe it but it just so out there. I can’t believe the patents didn’t do more like stop her from getting on the plane. But different times and Things like what happen we’re a hush hush thing.
In this story, a young girl is lured away (kidnapped) by a so-called family friend. The family trusted him with their daughter because they all belonged to the same church. The book is not well written and you will be horrified by how stupid the parents were (which they freely admit) but it's not a bad read and certainly a cautionary tale.
I loved how this book openly admitted mistakes made by the family. And they give you information to know how to deal with kidnapping and pedifiles. The family eventually has victory over the manipulative perp.
