This book is perfect for anyone who wants to take the NAB exam. I practically just used this book in concordance with James Allen other NHA guide. I will say the key factors to passing the NAB is truly understanding the federal regulations, understanding the Life safety codes, reading over financials from Allen's other book (chapter 3) and going over all the laws and amendments passed that affect the LTC industry ( Again, Allen's other book chapter 4). However, this book is your bible for future nursing home administrators. Not only does it provide an overview of all the regulations. It also tells you the intent of the regulations and possible compliance issues for each one. It is very thorough and I highly recommend it. There is a national study guide that you can purchase off the appropriate website, but I got to say it is very underwhelming in preparing you for the NAB.

Great for health care and federal state inspections. I used it when I took my National Nursing Home Licensure exam. Great reference book to keep in your office to review the regulations.

So I purchased this thinking it had the new cms rules. It does not, which being a new dns is a complete let down. Is there a 9th edition coming

WASTE of money. All information is easily found on CMS website, some of his other material is useful but not this. It is not useful for NHA, just surveyors. Could have been made much more useful

The text is written at a college level and is easily understood even if you are not in the health care profession.
