It’s one thing to judge a book such as this based solely on the documented successes of its’ dietary “prescriptions”; Eat Clean, Stay Lean, The Diet however, has much more going for it in terms of appealing to those who can be put off (as in, intimidated) by the mere thought of dieting (or, more to the point, failing at it).This book succeeds on three levels, all of which are integral to its’ effectiveness (and likeability)as a self-improvement “itinerary”. The first, and possibly most crucial, is its’ friendly, conversational tone which never talks down to the (sometimes) desperate reader; one who has struggled repeatedly over the weight-loss process only to find themselves losing ground in a continual murk of failure. It engagingly empathizes (and sympathizes)with the difficulties and misconceptions involved in that seemingly ever-unreachable goal of losing weight and keeping it off.Secondly, it does a nice job in putting the reader into the mind set of not only what’s involved, but in ambitiously wanting to partake in it. Put simply, while it clearly emphasizes the vital importance of taking care of ones self, it sets forth a tone which turns the process into an enjoyable challenge as opposed to something you look forward to with dread with each waking day.Finally, while giving very specific day-to-day, meal-to-meal rundowns of quickly-working itemized ways of losing the weight, it also contains a wealth of general information/advice which can be incorporated into anyone’s present day diet as a means of gradual/continual physical (and mental) self improvement.What Stay Clean makes crystal clear is that there are no quick permanent fixes to losing weight and keeping it off. While there are diets laid out which present the reader with a variety of quick “jump-starts”, it is firmly implied/stated that ongoing dietary discipline is a must. What the book lets you know however, is that this need not be a struggle but rather, an accepted new way of life in which the word “diet” is no longer applicable.Constant acknowledgment of being in “diet mode” is in and of itself the essence of the struggle. Eat Clean, Stay Lean, The Diet goes a very long way in explaining that this “diet-mode” mentality needs not be a part of the ongoing process. Difficult as this may seem (IS) for some, it’s books such as this one that can help make the journey seem possible and, who knows, maybe even painless.

I am a Certified Holistic Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist. I have studied many different programs from Atkins to Ketogenic to Paleogenic. This plan is what I use for my clients. Although the word "diet" is in the title, it is the way everyone should eat for life in order to be healthy and well for life! If I find that a client who has specific issues with microbiome imbalance, Candida, dealing with autoimmune diseases or is sensitive to a particular food containing gluten, dairy, eggs, etc. we simply modify it for them. This is my nutrition "bible" and it is the only diet book you need to own. Thank you for your contribution in making people healthy and well!

A little disappointed with the recipes. I bought the 3 week Eat Clean, Stay Lean 3 week program and thought the book would be an extension of that. Unfortunately, I didn't find that to be the case. The recipes aren't as easy to make as the 3 week program and there seems to be not as good of a selection as the 3 week program. After losing 14 lbs in the 3 weeks, I was looking for a program that I could continue to use, but I guess I'll stick with the 3 week until I get sick of it!!!

Excellent! Great and easy way to eat. No nonsense....good food, great directions.....

Beautifully laid out book. Great healthy recipes, vibrant pictures. Focus is on clean healthy eating for life.

I like this cookbook, It uses things that you can find in most grocery stores, recipes look easy and don't have a lot of ingredients. Haven't tried one yet, but plan to soon. I would recommend this.

There are some great recipe in this cookbook. I just started Weight Watchers Free Style and this is a great addition for out meals.
